Pay: £40,000 (OTE £50,000 plus)
Shift Pattern: Double days

Our client is a specialist in precision and bespoke manufacturing of products for the variety of industry and sectors value-added processes, operating within a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment.

 

Overview of the Maintenance Engineer Role:

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical and electrical maintenance of laser cutting machines and associated systems. This includes both routine and emergency repairs, as well as planned preventative maintenance. You will play a key role in ensuring minimal downtime and optimal machine performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on laser cutting machinery and associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance in line with the maintenance schedule.
  • Log all maintenance activities and parts used in the maintenance system.
  • Maintain critical spare parts inventory and ensure stock levels are adequate.
  • Collaborate with department managers and shop floor teams to coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Support improvement projects within the laser department and across the factory.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements of the Maintenance Engineer:

  • City & Guilds or BTEC in an engineering discipline
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including fault finding.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with precision machinery.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and manuals.
  • PC literacy for maintenance systems and machine operation interfaces.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
