This family-owned business is built on a foundation of trust, collaboration, and innovation, and they are looking for a Senior CAD Designer to join their growing team.

Responsibilities

As a Senior CAD Designer, you'll take ownership of projects from concept to completion, ensuring every detail is meticulously planned and executed. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting dimensional site surveys across the UK and Europe.
  • Attending design meetings (on-site and online) to collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Producing general arrangement (GA) drawings, detailed manufacturing drawings, and installation plans.
  • Coordinating designs with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Creating as-built drawings post-installation.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior and mid-level colleagues, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
  • Driving continuous improvement in design processes and product development.


Qualifications

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with sheet metal or structural steel fabrication.
  • Expertise in 2D AutoCAD (knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and/or Revit is a plus).
  • A solid understanding of installation best practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanor.
  • A full driving license and passport, with a willingness to travel occasionally.
  • A proactive mindset and a passion for delivering high-quality work.


Day-to-Day

Your typical day might include:

  • Visiting a client site to conduct a detailed survey, ensuring all measurements and specifications are accurate.
  • Collaborating with the design team to create innovative solutions for complex acoustic challenges.
  • Drafting precise manufacturing drawings that balance functionality, cost-efficiency, and manufacturability.
  • Attending a virtual design meeting with stakeholders to align on project goals and timelines.
  • Mentoring a junior designer, sharing your expertise to help them grow in their role.
  • Reviewing and refining designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
