gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Senior Titanium Tig Welder to work at their facility based in Hertfordshire.
Performance Objectives
- Sheet Metal for bespoke fitting parts.
- Support and input of welding processes and tooling/fixtures designs.
- Contribute and provide feedback to the selection of welding equipment
- Trial and Develop welding
- Perform weld tests and audits on an annual basis
- Understand and work from engineering drawings, data cards, written and verbal instructions
- Able to work without direct supervision and to co-operate as part of a team.
- Have an eye for detail and a good level of concentration for the fine tolerances required.
- Ability to use tools safely and accurately and work in a safe manner with respect to others around you.
- Responsible for ensuring work carried out in accordance with company procedures and maintenance of good working practices, including housekeeping and maintenance.
- Undertake other tasks, including work within other sections, as requested by your line manager within limits of capability and training.
- Ensure that work is conducted in a safe environment according to safe practices - report deviation from H&S good practice immediately.
Person Specification
- Certified to weld 0.5mm-4.0mm Titanium Butt and Fillet Welds in accordance with BCAR A8-10, AVP85D505, RPS 912, AWS D17, ISO 23494 and WHPS 455
- NADCAP work practices
- Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements relating to welding
- Competent sheet metal worker
Desirable
- HNC/NVQ/City & Guilds in Welding and Fabrication Engineering
- Experience in the Aerospace industry
- Experience with Non-Ferrous Metals
- Knowledge of Inspection procedures & standards;
- IT proficiency with the ability to input and retrieve data
