Position: Commercial Manager

Overview of role:

As Commercial Manager you will be required to manage the commercial team and undertake general Quantity Surveying duties as required to support the Commercial department. You will also integrate the commercial function with the wider business activities with particular emphasis as follows:

Duties:

  • Contract Management: Manage and negotiate contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure all contractual obligations are clearly defined and met. Manage claims and dispute resolution processes.
  • Financial Management: Oversee project budgets, cost value reports and financial performance of projects. Monitor and control expenditures to ensure profitability.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks. Develop strategies to minimise financial exposure and maximise gains. Ensure insurance and legal documentation are in place to protect the company.
  • Project Oversight: Collaborate with project teams to align commercial objectives with project execution. Monitor project progress and assess the financial impact of changes. Provide regular updates to senior management on project financial performance.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Manage the resolution of commercial disputes efficiently and effectively.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and develop a team of quantity surveyors, contract administrators, and commercial professionals. Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all duties are delivered in conjunction with current legislation and company policies, systems, and procedures.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as may reasonably be required by the company.
  • Any lawful orders by your line manager.
  • These duties may be amended from time to time upon reasonable notice
