Deputy Head of Finance | Birmingham | c£75,000 + Car

Elevation Recruitment Group’s Senior Finance division is working in partnership with a forward-thinking organisation experiencing rapid growth. We're seeking a Deputy Head of Finance to play a pivotal role in shaping and leading the UK finance function during this exciting phase of expansion.

Reporting directly to the UK Head of Finance, this is a rare opportunity to make a tangible impact across financial operations, reporting, and strategic projects within a fast-paced, ambitious environment. This role is based in the Birmingham area 3 days per week with one day of travel per week. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting & ControlsLead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.

  • Financial OperationsOversee day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management.

  • Budgeting & ForecastingSupport strategic planning and forecasting activities to align financial performance with business growth goals.

  • Pricing & MarginsAnalyse costs, improve pricing accuracy, and drive initiatives to enhance profitability.

  • Systems & Process ImprovementLead enhancements to ERP systems and streamline financial processes for efficiency and scalability.

  • Compliance & AuditEnsure statutory, regulatory, and tax compliance, liaising with external advisors and auditors where necessary.

  • LeadershipManage and develop Finance Managers, fostering a high-performance culture within the team.

About You:

We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA) who brings:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience

  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities

  • A commercial mindset with a proactive approach to business growth

  • Advanced Excel skills and proven ERP system experience

  • A hands-on attitude with a passion for continuous improvement
