Long Term Futures are working closely with a mainstream primary school with a strong inclusive ethos, who are seeking a Behaviour Mentor to support pupils in Key Stage 2 with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD and SEMH. These pupils can display challenging behaviour and require calm, firm but nurturing adult support.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a sports, coaching or youth work background who can use their energy, structure and rapport-building skills to make a positive impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support KS2 pupils with emotional regulation, focus and behaviour management
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions based on school behaviour strategies
  • Provide consistency and encouragement throughout the school day
  • Use physical activity, structure and clear routines to engage pupils
  • Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers and pastoral staff

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN/SEMH and behavioural needs (in school or alternative settings)
  • A positive, patient and firm presence who leads by example
  • Background in sports coaching, physical education or youth mentoring is a strong advantage
  • Understanding of safeguarding and behaviour support strategies (Team Teach desirable)
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to challenging situations
