An excellent new position is available for a detail-oriented and driven professional to become part of a fast-paced Energy Team as a Market & Trading Insights Analyst.This essential position underpins the energy buying function by delivering valuable market intelligence and assisting in the execution of data-led trading decisions that influence client energy portfolios.Role Overview:
  • Conducting in-depth assessments of UK and European energy markets, highlighting patterns and price drivers in commodities.
  • Producing informative and engaging market updates, analytical documents and visual presentations for both internal teams and external partners.
  • Assisting with the trading of gas and electricity by keeping meticulous records and managing trade confirmations.
  • Designing and enhancing benchmarking tools to assess trading success and outcomes.
  • Estimating future commodity values and creating financial models to support risk mitigation plans.
  • Liaising closely with suppliers, clients and colleagues to provide actionable market intelligence.
  • Leading regular internal briefings and playing an active part in trade execution aligned with strategic objectives.
What You’ll Bring:
  • A university qualification (or similar) in Economics, Mathematics, Business or a closely related discipline.
  • Previous involvement in energy trading or wholesale market operations.
  • Solid knowledge of key commodities, including liquefied natural gas, conventional gas, renewable sources and carbon-related products.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, VBA, and related tools.
  • Strong communication abilities, with confidence in interpreting figures, extracting insights, and delivering presentations.
  • A self-motivated, inquisitive mindset with a genuine enthusiasm for energy trading, well-suited to a collaborative and high-energy team setup.
