1:1 Primary Teaching Assistant – Supporting ASC & ADHD

We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD. Working within a mainstream primary setting, you will play a vital role in helping the child access learning, manage daily transitions, and feel secure and supported throughout the school day.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s life by building a consistent and trusting relationship. You will be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies that support emotional regulation, sensory needs, and engagement with learning.

If you’re passionate about inclusion and ready to support children in overcoming barriers to learning, this role is for you.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience supporting children with ASC, ADHD, or similar neurodiverse profiles
  • Be patient, calm, and consistent, with a child-centred approach to behaviour and communication
  • Be confident using visual supports, structured routines, and sensory-friendly strategies
  • Understand the importance of emotional regulation, clear boundaries, and positive reinforcement
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to track progress and adjust support as needed

Role Requirements:

  • Available full-time (term-time), typically Monday–Friday during school hours
  • Prior experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in an SEN or 1:1 support role
  • Understanding of autism, ADHD, and inclusive education practices
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Right to work in the UK

Why Apply:

  • Competitive daily pay, paid weekly
  • Access to ongoing training (e.g. ASC awareness, ADHD strategies, de-escalation techniques)
  • Opportunity to explore different school settings before committing long-term
  • Supportive consultant who will match you with suitable roles and provide regular check-ins
  • Chance to make a lasting impact on a child’s school journey while building your SEN experience

Apply today to become a trusted guide in a child’s learning journey — your support could be the key to unlocking their confidence and potential.
