You will focus on assessing, supporting, and supervising kinship carers to ensure safe, stable, and nurturing placements for children.This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a child-centred, trauma-informed service that places the welfare and stability of children at the heart of decision-making. You will join a supportive and dynamic team committed to promoting best outcomes for children in family-based care.Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake kinship fostering assessments (Form C and SGO assessments) in line with national guidance and statutory requirements.
  • Provide ongoing supervision and support to kinship foster carers, ensuring placements are safe and sustainable.
  • Work closely with children’s social workers, legal services, and the fostering panel to progress care planning and permanency arrangements.
  • Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings, court proceedings, and fostering panel as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date, high-quality case recordings and documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and service development activities.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Proven experience in fostering, particularly in kinship care assessments and support
  • Sound knowledge of fostering regulations, safeguarding, and permanency planning
  • Excellent assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload independently and meet deadlines
  • Enhanced DBS clearance
