Location: Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset (BS23)
Salary: 95 - 115 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time or Part-Time, Term Time Only
Start Date: ASAP
What you will do
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with special educational needs (SEN)
- Assist teachers and the SENCO with tailored learning plans
- Use positive behaviour management strategies in line with school policy
- Support children with personal care and physical needs where required
- Track and record pupil progress, raising concerns when necessary
- Encourage social, emotional, and academic development through strong relationships
- Help children stay motivated and engaged in lessons
The right SEN Teaching Assistant will have
- Previous experience working with children with SEN or challenging behaviour
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C / 4 or above) or equivalent
