Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs? TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant school in Ipswich from September 2025 on a permanent basis.

About the Role:
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students with a range of needs, providing tailored support to enable them to access the curriculum and thrive academically and socially. You will collaborate with teachers and other professionals to deliver a caring and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEN in daily classroom activities
  • Assist with individual education plans (IEPs) and progress tracking
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
  • Promote independence and confidence among students
  • Assist with personal care and behavioral management as required
  • Work as part of a dedicated team to support the holistic development of students

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with SEN is preferred but not essential – full training will be provided
  • Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Flexibility and resilience
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are desirable
