Principal Electrical Engineer

Location: Various client sites across the Northwest. (Warrington, Ellesmere Port, Manchester and Liverpool)

Our clients, a leading engineering consultancy in the utilities and infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to support key wastewater treatment projects. You'll be part of a dynamic team that delivers high-quality, safety-driven engineering solutions across multiple sites.

They are a trusted project delivery partner for major clients in the water and environmental sectors. Their team provides specialised engineering, design, and site support services across the UK. Known for our collaborative approach, they pride themselves on technical excellence, a strong safety culture, and delivering results that make a difference in local communities.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide expert support for electrical, control, and instrumentation (E,C&I) systems
  • Review and approve technical documentation for submission
  • Manage site activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and timely progress
  • Work closely with design and project management teams to align deliverables
  • Submit technical queries and engineering notices using client systems
  • Prepare and maintain a rolling 3-week lookahead schedule
  • Lead the preparation of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements)
  • Attend and contribute to key site meetings and milestones
  • Act as a key liaison between site teams, project stakeholders, and client representatives

What You'll Need:

  • Recognised apprenticeship in electrical engineering
  • COMPEX certification (Ex01-Ex04)
  • 18th Edition (BS7671) & BS 2391 (Inspection & Testing)
  • Experience with instrumentation and control systems
  • CSCS Safety Passport and SSSTS qualification
  • Valid UK driving licence and passport
