Manufacturing Engineer - Team Leader
A leading client in the Rail Rolling Stock Industry is recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to work on a contract basis based at their depot in Widnes, Cheshire.
This role may go permanent.
Purpose of the Job
Responsible for managing the Manufacturing Engineering function on site to ensure safe, productive, controlled methods for train modernisation and parts overhaul.
Responsibilities
Responsible for managing the Industrial Engineering function on site.
Responsible for the industrialisation of train modernisation and products to be manufactured in the workshops.
Evaluation of a customer RFQ's determining material costs, tooling, lead times and labour times.
Give manufacturing instructions
Creation of Standard Operating Procedures for new build, overhaul and train modernisation.
Ensure that the relevant overhaul and repair specifications and drawings are available.
Ensure that Quality procedures are adhered to.
Desired Knowledge/Experience
Looking for candidates who come from a heavy engineering, automotive or aerospace background
Need to be time served or have an HND/HNC
Must be either mechanically or electrically biased
Must be computer literate
