Locum Social Worker Opportunity - Child Protection / CIN Team - Halton

We're currently working with a forward thinking Local Authority in Halton seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join their Child Protection/Children In Need (CIN) team on a locum basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Undertake complex casework including single assessments, Section 47 investigations, parenting & viability assessments
  • Contribute to care proceedings in both public and private law arenas
  • Prepare Child Permanence Reports (CPRs) and support adoption planning
  • Work closely with families, safeguarding children at every stage
  • Collaborate with multi-agency professionals to develop effective care plans

To be considered for the role, ideally you will have:

  • BSc Social Work or equivalent
  • SWE registration
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience in child protection, assessment, and long-term case management
  • Strong court experience, including familiarity with public and private proceedings
  • A relationship-based, child-centred approach to practice
  • Confidence managing a full and complex caseload in a fast-paced team
