Assistant Accountant - Wigan - Permanent - Upto £30k per annum (DOE)

We are excited to be working with our well-established client who pride themselves on a modern approach. They are based within contemporary offices in Wigan and have exciting growth plans. Due to retirement, they are seeking an Assistant Accountant with practice experience to join their team, they have a varied client based with a turnover of £10 million. This role has great potential and will eventually lead to having your own portfolio of clients to manage.

Duties will include:

  • Monthly/Quarterly management accounts production - ensuring accuracy and delivering financial insights to help the business owners make decisions
  • Preparing VAT returns from prime business records
  • Preparing, finalising and sending out statutory year end accounts
  • Completing corporation tax returns
  • May assist other teams with Bookkeeping, self-assessment tax returns and Directors tax returns
  • Using Sage50
  • Using CCH system for accounts prep, Dext Prepare and Excel daily. (Ideally you will be advanced on Excel - can do Pivot Tables and Vlook ups)

Hours of work:

  • Monday to Friday
  • 9am - 5pm

The ideal candidate will have ambition and commercial awareness - part qualified (ACCA or AAT level 4 - must have experience of year end process) will be confident on the phone and proactive when speaking to clients.
