About the Role:

We are looking for a compassionate, proactive, and well organised Supported Housing Officer. Reporting to the Supported Housing Operations Manager, your key role will be to assess individuals facing homelessness, on their key needs and priorities to move on to independent living.

The role will have the option to work remotely from home or on-site in Wigan whilst also being able to cover and support residents across Wigan, Skelmersdale & Ormskirk so it is essential to have a driving license and access to your own vehicle (expenses paid).

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide tenancy-related support and guidance to residents.
  • Develop and implement individual support plans tailored to each tenant's needs.
  • Monitor and report on resident welfare, safeguarding concerns, and tenancy compliance.
  • Liaise with external agencies including social services, healthcare providers, and housing partners.
  • Support residents in accessing education, employment, and community activities.
  • Assist with the management of voids and allocations processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete reports in line with policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Full driving license
  • Experience in supported housing, social care, or a similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, housing legislation, and support planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
  • IT proficiency and ability to maintain accurate records.
