KS2 Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEN Support

Position: KS2 Teaching Assistant - 1:1 SEN Support
Salary: Competitive - based on experience and qualifications

We are seeking a committed and compassionate KS2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a welcoming primary school located in central Wigan

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact in a child's educational journey, working closely with the class teacher and SEN team to support a pupil's academic, emotional and social development.



Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support tailored to the needs of a KS2 pupil with SEN

  • Help implement learning and behaviour support strategies

  • Adapt learning materials to meet the child's individual needs

  • Support the pupil's inclusion within classroom and school life

  • Maintain records and contribute to reviews and assessments

  • Work closely with the SENCO, class teacher and external professionals



About You:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN (e.g. autism, ADHD, learning or communication difficulties)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Patient, nurturing, and consistent in approach

  • Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)

  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed
