Experienced SEN Teacher - Wigan
Location: Wigan, Greater Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN Allowance (depending on experience)

Are you a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?
A welcoming and inclusive school in Wigan is looking to appoint a compassionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with pupils who have a range of special educational needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs and EHCP outcomes

  • Teach small groups or 1:1 sessions depending on pupil requirements

  • Foster a safe, structured and engaging learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCO, parents and external professionals

  • Contribute to planning, assessment, reviews and reporting in line with school and statutory expectations

  • Promote personal development, resilience and independence in all learners



The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS)

  • Proven experience teaching pupils with SEN in a specialist or mainstream setting

  • Strong knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies and behaviour support techniques

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • A calm, patient and flexible approach to supporting diverse needs

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
