An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Quality Coordinator to join a highly reputable food manufacturing company. The Role:
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Co-Ordinator will assist in the management and continual improvement of hygiene standards, food safety, and quality management systems. You will be responsible for supporting and implementing company standards, driving a culture of continuous improvement, and maintaining compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the management of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems (BRC, ISO, customer standards).
Develop, review, and improve recording systems, reporting tools, and internal auditing procedures.
Manage food safety culture initiatives, analyse data, and follow through on action plans.
Investigate non-conformities and customer complaints, ensuring root cause analysis and effective close-out.
Coordinate the preparation for audits and actively participate during audits and site visits.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, GMP, hygiene, and site security policies.
Develop food safety and quality promotional materials (e.g., posters, briefings).
Maintain effective communication between departments to uphold quality standards.
Act as document controller and maintain up-to-date records in line with company and legal requirements.
Lead or contribute to various improvement projects (such as 5S and quality improvement initiatives).
Cascade updates on legislative changes, assessing their impact on site operations.
Requirements:
HND/Degree in Food Technology or relevant experience.
HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3 certifications are essential.
Internal auditing qualification with experience in quality auditing.
Strong knowledge of BRC, ISO, and customer food safety and quality standards.
Competency in IT systems including Microsoft Office, Access, and PowerPoint.
Excellent analytical, planning, and organisational skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
Flexibility to work weekends, Bank Holidays, and outside standard hours as required.
