Job Summary/Purpose and Role

To provide the leadership and management of multi-disciplined engineering teams in the delivery of Aquila’s major projects or workstreams. Responsible for the provision of electrical engineering elements associated with success delivery of machine design and build projects through the design process from concept to manufacture, testing and handover. Working as part of a project team, you will manage design output of CUK sub-contractors, from concept to validation for electrical elements. Reporting directly to the Technical Manager responsible for providing input and support to the Engineering Function Technical Authority.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• To progress the technical delivery of the electrical elements of engineering projects, as allocated, in alignment with the Technical Manager, Project Engineering Manager and Project Manager.

• To support Project Managers to ensure outsourced EC&I design meets requirement.

• To ensure EC&I project scope is satisfied efficiently and effectively.

• To provide strict adherence to customers specification and standards for EC&I.

• Work alongside design engineers to ensure designs are fit for purpose and identify design solutions integrate electrical and control requirements effectively.

• Peer review of sub-contractor produced drawings and documentation against project specification requirements.

• Help develop and maintain a good working relationship with clients and suppliers, including the identification, assessment, and integration of new EC&I subcontractors.

• Witnessing factory acceptance tests and projects sign off.

• Supporting the scheduling and tasking information to the Project Engineering Manager and Project Manager.

• To provide analyses and understand technical tender specifications, producing the technical aspects of tender returns and creating accurate tender design estimates.

• To peer review of concept designs, 3D CAD scheme designs, detailed manufacturing drawings and design substantiation by calculations.

• To support the development of the engineering resource, development and implementation of internship and apprenticeship programmes

• To assist in general clerical and administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the Engineering Department. Any other job duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.

• Understanding of GDPR/data protection legislation procedures and requirements in a highly regulated environment.

• To support business change, via effective change management processes in the context of a fast-paced regulatory environment.

• To be responsible for your own workplace safety. To demonstrate commitment to health and safety; ensure all statutory obligations are met and the safety of staff, clients and visitors are in line with the UK and European standards.

• Prepared to undertake regular travel in the UK and overseas when required.

• Attend various business meetings as required.

• Any other job duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.
