This well renowned, trusted name in horticulture is looking for a new Head Grower to join the team.

As Head Grower, you'll take the lead on day-to-day crop care across one of their divisions, working closely with the Growing Manager and Technical Team to deliver consistent, top-quality plants, while helping to drive improvements in growing practices and team development.

What's the Job?

  • You'll be leading and managing all growing operations, ensuring high quality and minimal waste.
  • You will be overseeing quality standards across potting, spacing, and grading.
  • As the Head Grower, it'll be down to you to monitor and control environmental conditions.
  • Crop walking, managing pest and disease issues, irrigation and nutrient programmes will all be part of your role.
  • You'll be applying plant protection products and growth regulators in line with protocols.
  • Working closely with a supportive Growing Manager, you'll conduct regular crop assessments and use data to support decision-making.
  • You'll be supporting, training, and developing a small growing team to achieve their full potential.

What do I Need?

  • You'll have a commercial growing and crop management background in a glasshouse environment. You don't need to be an expert in what they grow, though, as long as you're excited to learn.
  • From your background, you'll have knowledge of environmental controls, plant nutrition, irrigation, and pest control.
  • PA1 & PA6 would be ideal.
  • You'll be able to work independently, manage your day and support a small team grower.
