 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time | Wisbech Primary School 

Are you an experienced and compassionate professional with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? A welcoming mainstream primary school in Wisbech is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September, working within their small on-site ASD unit.

?? Position Details:

  • Role: SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD Unit)
  • Start Date: September
  • Hours: Full-Time, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Monday to Friday)
  • Location: Wisbech, Cambridgeshire
  • Contract: Long-term with potential for permanent placement

?? About the Role: This role involves supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder throughout the school day, helping them access learning, manage routines, and develop social and emotional skills. You’ll work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support team to create a nurturing and structured environment.

�? Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD
  • Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and sensory needs
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and wellbeing
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
  • Support with personal care and emotional regulation where needed

? Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with SEN, particularly Autism
  • Background in education or care (ideal for experienced TAs or care professionals)
  • Experience in a primary school setting is highly beneficial
  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
  • Strong communication, patience, and empathy
  • UK address and right to work in the UK
