Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Remedy Education is currently looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive and inclusive school in Thurrock from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity to provide targeted support to students who need help managing their behaviour and emotional wellbeing, while helping them thrive in a structured and nurturing educational setting.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH or behavioural challenges.

• Implement and follow Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs) and targeted support strategies.

• Create a safe, supportive learning environment that encourages self-regulation and engagement.

• Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to ensure consistent and effective support.

• Use positive reinforcement, de-escalation techniques, and restorative approaches to manage behaviour.

• Build trusting relationships with pupils to promote personal development and academic success.

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour is essential.

• A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to behaviour management.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.

• A valid enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

• Previous school or youth work experience is desirable.

• A welcoming school environment with strong staff support.
