About the Project:We are supporting a leading global IT service provider on a hardware refresh project based in Witham, UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior-level IT engineer or technician with good organisational skills and knowledge of build processes, looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in a busy technical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • - Assist with the hardware refresh process, including device preparation, imaging, setup, and basic configuration
  • - Follow documented build procedures and checklists to ensure consistency and quality
  • - Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking devices in/out and updating records
  • - Collaborate with the local team to ensure timely delivery of tasks against project deadlines
  • - Provide clear and professional communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • - Support physical deployment of equipment onsite as needed (lifting, placing, cabling, etc.)
  • - Escalate any technical issues or delays promptly to the project lead

Key Skills & Requirements:

  •  Previous experience in a junior IT support or hardware technician role (or strong academic knowledge with some hands-on exposure)
  •  Familiarity with the device build and refresh process (imaging, software installs, testing)
  •  Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel
  • Good attention to detail for inventory tracking and documentation
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively within a team

Nice-to-Have:

  • Exposure to inventory management tools or asset tracking systems
  • Understanding of ITIL processes or service desk environments
  • Experience in a fast-paced rollout or deployment project
