Their Legal Services team plays avital role in supporting council operations, particularly in housing,litigation, and public law.The roleThisis a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Disrepair Lawyer to take ownership of a varied caseload, with a focus on housing disrepair, litigation, and advocacy. You'll be advising senior officers and members, drafting legal documents, and representing the council incourt. The role offers a great balance of autonomy and support, with scope todevelop your expertise in public sector law.What you'll need to succeed
- A UK law degree orequivalent legal qualification
- Full qualification asa Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of LegalExecutives
- A current practisingcertificate
- Strong experience inhousing disrepair and litigation
- Excellent legaldrafting, case management, and advocacy skills
- Confidence in advisingsenior stakeholders and working independently
- Familiarity with localgovernment law and procedures
- Strong communicationand time management skills
- Willingness to travellocally and occasionally outside the Southend area
