We are seeking a hands-on and well-organised Trainee Production Engineer with a strong interest in mechanical assembly and production engineering. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow into a technical role, contributing to new product introduction and continuous improvement initiatives within a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
Key Responsibilities of the Trainee Production Engineer:
- Support technical activities across production and warehouse operations.
- Assist in developing and implementing assembly and test procedures for new products.
- Contribute to improving existing production processes, including designing jigs and fixtures.
- Help mentor and train assembly operators to maintain quality standards.
- Participate in setting up and running production lines to enhance efficiency.
- Engage in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required for the Trainee Production Engineer:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly skills.
- Understanding of production engineering principles and collaboration with design teams.
- Ability to read technical drawings (BS8888 standard preferred).
- Familiarity with lean practices and a willingness to learn and grow.
- Experience with mills and lathes is desirable but not essential.
