Trainee Production Engineer

Location: Woking
Job Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
Salary: £35,000 per annum

We are seeking a hands-on and well-organised Trainee Production Engineer with a strong interest in mechanical assembly and production engineering. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow into a technical role, contributing to new product introduction and continuous improvement initiatives within a collaborative and forward-thinking team.

Key Responsibilities of the Trainee Production Engineer:

  • Support technical activities across production and warehouse operations.
  • Assist in developing and implementing assembly and test procedures for new products.
  • Contribute to improving existing production processes, including designing jigs and fixtures.
  • Help mentor and train assembly operators to maintain quality standards.
  • Participate in setting up and running production lines to enhance efficiency.
  • Engage in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.

Skills & Experience Required for the Trainee Production Engineer:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on assembly skills.
  • Understanding of production engineering principles and collaboration with design teams.
  • Ability to read technical drawings (BS8888 standard preferred).
  • Familiarity with lean practices and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Experience with mills and lathes is desirable but not essential.
