Teaching Assistant (Education and Training) - Wolverhampton

Are you looking for a rewarding role working with children that allows you to feel like you are making a difference?
We are currently looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant in Wolverhampton, who is passionate about supporting young children with Special Educational Needs. This school is based in the centre of Wolverhampton, making it easy to commute to via car or public transport. They have a strong SEN team who are able to support you with your development as a Teaching Assistant.

You will be working with a key pupil who has ASD and SEMH, so the successful candidate will have a calm and nurturing approach.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for:

  • Working alongside the class teacher to provide tailored support to specific children.

  • Collaborating with the SENCO to follow the pupil's EHCP.

  • Conducting play therapy sessions as instructed by Educational Psychologists.

  • Safeguarding all children in the school and creating a positive learning environment for pupils and staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN

  • A passion for working with children and commitment to education and training

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Valid DBS registered to the update service
