Procurement Manager
- Location: Woodbridge, Suffolk
- Salary: £45,000 to £52,000, Negotiable based on experience
- Job Type: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to join our client's team. This pivotal role ensures the on-time delivery of key components, documentation, and services within budget. The successful candidate will develop and maintain strong commercial relationships with suppliers, manage procurement operations, and ensure seamless communication across departments.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through regular reviews and audits.
- Procurement Operations: Expedite the on-time delivery of key components and manage supplier documentation through the company's Document Management System (DMS).
- Commercial Negotiation: Source components and negotiate target prices, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and certifications.
- Stock Management: Maintain accurate stock levels and ensure IT systems are up to date.
- Strategic Reviews: Conduct strategic reviews to drive down costs and improve supplier performance.
- Team Leadership: Manage and grow the procurement team, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Essential:
- Experience in a procurement role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in supplier relationship management.
- Desirable:
- Leadership experience
- 2 A Levels, HND, or national equivalent.
- Degree or equivalent.
- Experience in procuring high specification components such as castings, motors, seal systems, and fabrications.
- Understanding of MRP manufacturing systems.
