Residential Care Officer

Location: Sandon Close, Grantham, NG319AX
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 4+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Responsibilities
  • Create an environment that promotes a positive respect for young people, ensuring they feel safe and valued.
  • Work as part of a team providing care as outlined in each child or young person's individual Care Plan, including providing outreach support away from the home.
  • Undertake specific responsibilities that maintain and improve the service and functioning of the home, adhering to relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain monitoring and administrative systems and participate in departmental monitoring and evaluation processes.
  • Provide personal care that respects the dignity and privacy of the young people and assist them in understanding their emotions and social skills positively.
  • Encourage and enable children to achieve their maximum potential while allowing them to assume responsibility for their actions commensurate with their age, ability, and aptitude.
  • Administer medication according to the child's care plan and policy and procedure, maintaining detailed and accurate records.
  • Meet the basic health needs of the young people and attend appointments to support them.
Person Specification
  • Ability to create a safe and supportive environment for young people.
  • Experience in working collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements in residential care.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining monitoring and administrative systems.
  • Empathy and understanding of young people's emotions and social development.
  • Commitment to encouraging young people's growth and independence.
  • Competence in administering medication and maintaining accurate records.
  • Capability to meet the health needs of young people and support them in appointments.
