We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and innovative chef to join our small but mighty team. We are a small family run 11 bedroom boutique hotel in the village of Findon just outside of Worthing.
We serve breakfast, lunch and evening meals daily and have many functions throughout the year serving a wide variety of dishes and menu types. Due to the nature of being a small independent we are able to offer our customers what they want and tailor menus to suit. This keeps our day to day food services varied and exciting from BBQs to wedding breakfasts, meetings and everything in between there is never a dull moment. We serve a cook to order gastro pub style seasonal menu from 12-8pm daily and serve a cracking Sunday roast which is really drawing a crowd. We have spent the last 3 years gaining a great reputation for simple but well executed gastro pub style meals and are looking for someone to come and join us to continue this reputation.
What are we looking for, our kitchen team is relatively small we have 4 chefs working overlapping shifts throughout the week depending on fluctuating business needs and events but as we are relatively small our dinner service is a cook to order menu provided by one chef so there is loan working required but we work together to ensure during busy times we support each other. We work as a team to create our seasonal menu so there is much scope for innovation and this is very much appreciated by our hotel guests and regular customers.
Shifts are 5 over 7 and are 8 hours per day straight shifts.
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Salary scope is between £28,000 - £30,000 per annum experience dependent plus tips are shared 3 monthly
Requirements , Skills and responsibilitites :
- Level 2 health and safety and food hygiene
- Experience providing a gastro pub style cook to order menu independently would be advantageous
- Maintain a clean and organised work space and ensure standards to food safety are maintained across all areas of our kitchen
- Set up and stocking stations to ensure smooth service
- Foreword thinking for ensure prep for events and functions is executed
- Ensure all plates prepared follow food safety guidelines and plate presentation as per the spec sheets
- Ability to work in a fast paced events environment and meet client deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork skills
