Our client is a well established aerospace manufacturing company based in Wrexham.

Description

To oversee Paint Production Management to coordinate work schedules and manage resourcing levels in support of business requirements. This role will require high levels of communication and organisation to ensure product flow is achieved within the Production department to meet customer deadlines

  • To plan, organise and schedule work through manufacturing on a daily basis, ensuring delivery to customer to the required quality standards, timescales and costs as laid down by the business plan.
  • To ensure business processes are embedded within manufacturing and are compliant with the methodology.
  • To implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) governing the entire process from receipt of raw materials to despatch.
  • To review and challenge all manufacturing processes with a view to implementing lean and continuous improvement.
  • To be conversant and compliant with HSE regulations and to work with the contracted assistance to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all.
  • Support the escalation of work issues to Production Management as required.
  • Provide detailed reports to production management on productivity, people matters, machining issues and any other relevant shift matters including health & safety concerns.
  • Work with the Engineering Team and Production Team in to review and re-plan existing work to achieve cost reductions and better utilisation of cutting times, machine use, set up times, tooling, etc
  • Verify component quality as per Quality Department standards and procedures and support the escalation and investigation of quality issues in order to achieve resolution.
  • Actively support and contribute to the continuous improvement programme and lean manufacturing whilst continually reviewing working practices to remove and reduce waste and non-value adding activities.
  • To be responsible for all disciplinary matters including absence levels, holidays, timekeeping and working to company disciplinary procedure.
  • To manage the operation within agreed budget
  • To carry out twelve monthly appraisals, creating and maintaining training matrices and recommending and organising training as appropriate.
  • To continue the personal development of self and agree to undertake development/training with the Operations Director.
  • Responsible for the hiring of new employees and maintenance of headcount budgets within the company policy and procedure.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties as required by management in support of a changing business environment in order to achieve organisational requirements

Profile

Essential Criteria:

  • Preferred BSc in Engineering, time served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent. track reocrd in industry also considered
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Leadership and people management skills
  • You must be a Production Manager in the aerosoace or defence

Desirable Criteria:

  • ILM Level 5 in Management or equivalent.
  • Chemical Treatments Experience desireable, but aeorpsace essentual
