Reed Education are currently looking for a dedicated, organised and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work with an outstanding Wrexham based School on a long term basis.

Working across the school in a variation of different year groups, you will be supporting a range of class teachers, covering PPA and as and when required supporting as a Teaching Assistant. The HLTA will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively with teaching staff in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources. Also, to deliver learning to individuals, small groups and whole classes as and when required.

The ideal candidate will be expected to encourage pupils to become independent learners, be competent within the national curriculum, be fun, dynamic and show a great deal of initiative.

What can I expect work to look like?

• Under the direction of a teacher, HLTAs often plan, prepare and deliver learning activities with individual pupils, groups and (in the short term) whole classes, and also assess, record and report on pupils' progress.

• Many HLTAs have a role to play outside the classroom, as well: they may manage other classroom-based staff, develop a specialist curriculum area within the school and often liaise with parents and carers on sensitive issues for particular pupils.

• Have high expectations of pupils' achievement and behaviour

• Be enthusiastic, flexible, creative and ambitious

• The ability to be flexible, show initiative, be reliable and enthusiastic

• Excellent communication skills

• Recent and relevant experience of working with children within a Primary setting

To be considered for this role you would need to have:

• A relevant teaching assistant qualification that qualifies you to work as a HLTA

• Two references with your relevant experience within the last 2

• A current DBS that is registered with the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
