Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systems Engineer to join a forward-thinking organisation at the forefront of underwater defence technology. This role offers the chance to work on innovative and complex projects that support naval and defence customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to gather, document, and refine customer requirements, contributing to system design and architecture across underwater domains.

  • Work closely with project managers and sales teams to support the development of technical proposals and ensure compliance with customer requirements.

  • Lead technical efforts from concept through to final system deliveryon time, on budget, and to specwhile resolving any technical issues that arise.

  • Develop and execute rigorous testing and validation processes for hardware, firmware, and software components.

  • Prepare and review technical documentation including specifications, designs, reports, and manuals.

  • Identify and manage technical risks, escalating where necessary.

  • Act as a technical point of contact for customers, providing expert advice and support.

  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in engineering and operational processes.

Skills & Experience Essential:

  • Background in engineering design, systems architecture, or systems engineeringpreferably within the defence or maritime sector.

  • Experience working directly with customers, subcontractors, and partners.

  • Strong ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Proven track record of delivering projects within agreed timelines and adapting to evolving requirements.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of project/task management methodologies.

  • Understanding of systems engineering lifecycle in defence.

  • Awareness of defence capability frameworks or similar structures.

Qualifications Essential:

  • Degree in an engineering discipline such as systems, mechanical, electrical, software, or communications engineering.

Desirable:

  • Chartered Engineer status.

Other Information
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required.

  • Security Clearance: UK nationals only (no dual nationality). Must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC).

  • Medical: No regular medical required.
