Production Controller / Yeovil / 19.10 per hour

Our client, a leading Aerospace and Defence Manufacturerare looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Production Controller to join their Transmissions Manufacturing team. This role is critical in supporting material supply and production flow, ensuring timely delivery of components to manufacturing and assembly shops. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with the master production plan and drive operational efficiency.



Key Responsibilities

  • Launch and manage production orders in SAP
  • Monitor and resolve WIP issues, incorrect clocking, and production order discrepancies
  • Run shortage reviews and expedite critical parts
  • Ensure accurate BOMs and coordinate kitting activities
  • Manage offload operations and prioritise outgoing work
  • Liaise with logistics, stores, and shop floor teams to resolve material supply issues
  • Maintain build sheets, update order books, and support SAP reporting
  • Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards


Key Skills & Experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of SAP (Material Management & Production Planning modules)
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, MRP, and material supply
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Team player with a customer-focused mindset
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of quality systems and production environments


Desirable Qualifications

  • I-INC or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production control environment

This is a one year temporary contract with the potential to extend

Shifts:

  • Early: Monday to Thursday 06:00-14:00, Friday 06:00-12:00
  • Late: Monday to Thursday 14:00-22:00, Friday 12:00-18:00
