Spencer Clarke Group are working with a Local Authority in North Yorkshire seeking to appoint eight experienced Building Surveyors on an interim basis to support a key project within their Property Services team.

Role Overview

As a Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting detailed surveys of the council's housing stock, identifying issues, and producing clear and accurate reports to support asset management and future investment planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct condition surveys of council-owned residential properties
  • Identify and report on building defects and maintenance needs
  • Prepare detailed survey reports, including recommendations for repairs, refurbishments, and compliance improvements
  • Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal stakeholders as required
  • Ensure all surveys are conducted in line with health and safety and legislative standards

Requirements

  • Fully trained and qualified Building Surveyor
  • Proven experience conducting surveys within residential or social housing stock
  • Strong reporting and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple sites
