Operations Manager

We are looking for an experienced operational leader who excels in team management, operational strategy, and service improvement who has strong leadership skills with a proven ability to coach, develop, and motivate teams. A customer-first mindset is essential, ensuring high service standards and an outstanding customer experience. This is a full time, permanent position based in York, North Yorkshire.

Operations Manager key responsibilities include:

  • Managing & developing a small in-house team who are supporting a large team of self-employed contractors, ensuring service excellence
  • Monitoring performance & quality, maintaining adherence to SLAs and business goals
  • Strengthening relationships with contractors, supporting recruitment, onboarding, and career development
  • Leading operational improvements by identifying areas for enhanced service delivery
  • Working cross-functionally, collaborating with internal teams to align business objectives
  • Providing coaching & structured feedback; fostering professional growth and accountability
  • Overseeing daily operations, ensuring seamless execution of key services
  • Facilitating engagement programs; including conferences, forums, and webinars
  • Leading recruitment & onboarding; securing the best talent for long-term success
  • Managing compliance & claims resolution

The successful Operations Manager will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships across diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate commercial awareness and have the ability to drive operational efficiencies and strategic improvements. Confidence in delivering constructive feedback and managing challenging conversations is important, alongside a track record of leading projects that enhance service delivery.

This role demands a hands-on approach, balancing leadership responsibilities with direct operational involvement. Proficiency in technology and digital tools is essential as you will be helping to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Experience in Administration, HR, Operations, or a related leadership role is essential.

Salary circa 65K
