- Supervise a team of drivers issuing work daily.
- Monitor and adjust transport plan as necessary to ensure optimum efficiency.
- Allocating jobs and briefing drivers of delivery criteria required.
- Ensure all keys tasks are completed in a timely manner to meet the needs of the business.
- Proactively communicate with customers regarding any delays with loading & unloading of loads.
- Ensure fleet compliance using management software to produce reports, analysis etc
- Plan vehicles for inspection / service / repairs as required.
Transport Planner Job Requirements
- The successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar role, be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication skills.
- Be proactive and able to work under their own initiative.
- Computer Literate with experience of Transport Management systems.
- Good UK road network and national geographic knowledge essential.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
- Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale
Transport Planner Salary & Benefits
- £30 - 40k dependant on experience
- Performance related bonus scheme (on top of salary)
- Immediate start available
- Monday - Friday core hours
