Job Title: Project Manager – Drainage

Location: Widnes/York/Middlesbrough

Salary: Dependant on experience

Hours: Full time – Monday – Friday 9:00-17:00 (midweek and weekend overtime available)

About the role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Drainage Project Manager to join our dynamic team in the utilities sector.

In this pivotal role, you will manage drainage projects from planning to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to high quality standards. You should have a strong background in project management, drainage operations, surveying, and cleaning. Working closely with engineers, contractors, and regulators, you'll lead planning, risk management, and ensure compliance with environmental and industry standards. Maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of drainage projects from start to finish.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure projects remain on scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify challenges and develop robust mitigation strategies.
  • Lead project meetings, fostering collaboration and effective communication among stakeholders.
  • Ensure all projects comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in project management within the drainage industry.
  • Experience in utilities, industrial and rail is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in project management principles, including planning, risk assessment and resource allocation.
  • Strong understanding of drainage systems and water management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and an understanding of how they apply to site-based activities.
