Role Overview

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified or nearly qualified Forensic Psychologist to join the psychology team at HMP - York. This is an ideal role for someone starting their post-registration journey, offering a structured and supportive environment to develop your clinical skills in a secure setting.

Working closely with a Principal Psychologist, you will play an active role in delivering psychological services and contributing to the rehabilitation and wellbeing of the prison population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver psychological assessments and evidence-based interventions

  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

  • Support rehabilitation and resettlement programmes

  • Contribute to parole assessment processes and report writing

  • Assist in developing initiatives to reduce reoffending

  • Receive structured supervision and professional development

Requirements

  • HCPC registration as a Forensic Psychologist, or close to achieving registration

  • Strong interest in working within custodial or secure environments

  • Commitment to ethical, person-centred practice

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
