JOB SUMMARYÂ
The Parent Program Cabin Counselor is responsible for the safety, health, and well-being of all campers within their assigned cabin throughout the day and from the time they return to the cabin for the evening to when campers are released to instruction the following morning. The Parent Program Cabin Counselor is responsible for assisting campers with any needs or challenges that arise during the week, referring to the Head Counselor as needed. This role provides you with the ability to connect with the campers outside of the park setting and enhance the overall experience.Â

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
Attend and participate in staff training, meetings and touch bases to acquire knowledge for behavior management techniques, emergency evacuation procedures, etc.Â
Execute routine daily safety inspections and reporting and cleaning of assigned areasÂ
Reports and records details of incidents, such as accidents or rule violations to your direct report Â
Familiar with all camp facility locations, camp schedules, and emergency procedures  Â
Ensure each camper's individual needs are met regarding their overall "well-being" (health, safety and wellness) Â
Ensure campers perform self-care, such as; bathing, hair care, and teeth brushing  Â
Assist young campers throughout the day on overall wellness, scheduled instruction, and getting to activities Â
Connection & Community – Create a cohesive and positive cabin experience amongst all campers in the cabinÂ
Assist campers upon arrival and departure from camp  Â
Exercise patience and compassion with confidence to all guests, campers, staff, VIP's and families  Â
Communicate any and all maintenance needed to uphold a safe and sanitized cabin  Â
Take attendance with required night supervisor sign off and enforce lights out  Â
Stay at camp in bunk style cabins and expected to remain inside the cabin from lights out until morning  Â

Employment in this position is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-hire background checks, including criminal history clearance through the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH), child abuse clearance through the Department of Public Welfare, Motor Vehicle Record if required by position and federal background screening via FBI fingerprintingÂ

Preferred Qualifications:Â
Preferred 1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teensÂ
Experience working in a camp environment is preferred.  Â
High School degree or equivalent preferred Â

Must have or be able to obtain the following prior to starting work:Â

Mandated Reporter Training CertificateÂ
Safesport Training CertificateÂ

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTSÂ
Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.  Â
Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.  Â
Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.  Â
