Experienced Veterinary Assistant

VCA Westlake Village Animal Hospital located in beautiful Westlake Village, CA is seeking an EXPERIENCED Veterinary Assistant to join our wonderful team! We are looking to hire a candidate full-time, but we will consider part-time for the right candidate.

*Full-Time associates work (4)-Ten Hour shifts

Location: 31166 Via Colinas, Westlake Village, CA 91362

Pay Range: $20.50 - 24.00/hour

You should be confident with basic veterinary assistant skills and comfortable working closely with veterinarians, technicians, and fellow assistants.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar animal care role

• Strong team-player mindset with excellent communication skills

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting

• Comfort with handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods

• Reliable, punctual, and eager to grow

In this position you will be supporting our Doctors and Technician team by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.  Duties will include:

• Assisting veterinarians/technicians during exams, procedures, and treatments

• Safely restraining patients using low-stress handling techniques

• Prepare exam rooms and maintain hospital cleanliness

• Support diagnostic work when trained (collecting samples, running in-house tests, etc.)

• Perform routine animal care: feeding, walking, and kennel cleaning

• Help with client communication: check-ins, phone support, reviewing basic home-care instructions

• Restock supplies and help maintain inventory

• Contribute to a respectful, team-focused working environment

Monday - Friday: 8:00a - 7:00p

Saturday - Sunday: 8:00a - 4:00p
