General Operator 1 (IMPB TOB) (2nd shift)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Production & Assembly Operations: Perform mechanical assembly, structural installation, component mounting, and related TOB build activities according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and production schedules.

• Material Handling: Move raw materials, subassemblies, and finished components within the facility using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, cranes, or forklifts (if certified).

• Blueprint & Work Instruction Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and bills of material to ensure accurate assembly and installation.

• Quality Verification: Inspect work to ensure compliance with quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements; report discrepancies or defects promptly.

• Equipment Operation: Operate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment safely and effectively.

• Testing Support: Assist with basic inspection, fit-up verification, and pre-functional checks to support downstream testing and commissioning activities.

• Documentation: Complete production logs, checklists, quality documentation, and work order updates accurately and in a timely manner.

• Safety & Housekeeping: Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, maintain a clean and organized work area, and support 5S and lean manufacturing initiatives.

• Team Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, engineers, quality personnel, and fellow operators to meet production goals and drive continuous improvement.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and quality within the IMPB TOB production process.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Previous manufacturing, industrial assembly, construction, or modular building experience preferred

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions

• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices

• Forklift or crane certification preferred (or ability to obtain certification)

• Basic math and computer skills for documentation and production tracking

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality

• Ability to work effectively in a team-based, fast-paced production environment

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

This position may require standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a manufacturing or industrial assembly environment.

• Exposure to noise, moving machinery, overhead lifting equipment, and varying indoor temperatures.

• Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, or overtime as required by project schedules.

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED

No travel required; position is facility-based.
