Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Sr. Test Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to design, execute, and maintain tests to verify that software and/or systems are working as intended and meet quality standards.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Serve as the primary and dedicated Test Engineer responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on system-level test events for various systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria in accordance with program requirements, standards, and internal organizational processes.
  • Plan and execute formal qualification, verification, validation, and developmental test events, including periodic and ad-hoc testing.
  • Lead hands-on execution of sensor system testing, including setup, instrumentation, data collection, and troubleshooting.
  • Analyze test data, assess system performance, and document results with clear findings, risks, and recommendations.
  • Author detailed test reports, brief results to engineering leadership, program management, and government or internal stakeholders, and support test readiness and post-test reviews.
  • Support testing of an initial fielded or near-fielded sensor system, with expanding responsibility for new systems, upgrades, and prototype platforms as programs mature.
  • Collaborate closely with systems engineering, integration, hardware/software teams, and operations to resolve deficiencies and improve system performance.
  • Contribute to test strategy development and long-range planning for sensor system capabilities across the program lifecycle.

What Required Skills You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Typically 8+ years of experience in system-level engineering/testing within a defense or aerospace environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing test plans for complex sensor systems or integrated hardware/software systems.
  • Strong understanding of verification and validation (V&V) processes, test methodologies, and defense-related engineering standards.
  • Proven ability to independently manage end-to-end test activities as a sole test authority.
  • Experience analyzing complex datasets and translating results into clear, defensible technical reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate test plans, results, and risks to senior engineering leadership and program stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills in support of multiple test events and evolving priorities.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring
  • Experience testing advanced sensor technologies.
  • Familiarity with military standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-882) and government test processes.
  • Experience supporting developmental, operational, and qualification testing across the system lifecycle.
  • Experience testing prototype systems, rapid development efforts, or technology demonstrations.
  • Prior experience interfacing with government customers
  • Ability to help define, mature, and institutionalize test processes and best practices within an organization.

Security Clearance Requirement:
An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.
