ABOUT THIS ROLE
Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Staff ServiceNow Architect to lead the technical strategy, architecture, and migration for our enterprise-wide ServiceNow IT Operations Management implementation. This is a greenfield opportunity to build the operational backbone of our Service Registry and CMDB from the ground up. You will architect the CMDB, design integrations, lead the migration from legacy systems, and establish ServiceNow as one of our mission-critical platforms.Â

Duties/ResponsibilitiesÂ
Migration LeadershipÂ
Lead large-scale migration from legacy ITSM/asset management systems to ServiceNowÂ
Design phased migration strategy: data migration, system cutover, integration planning, risk mitigationÂ
Coordinate across teams, vendors, and stakeholders; ensure zero downtime for critical operationsÂ
Own CMDB data migration: assessment, cleansing, validation, reconciliationÂ
IT Operations Management Architecture & DesignÂ
Design Configuration Management Database (CMDB) data model (CI classes, relationships, service taxonomy) for financial services contextÂ
Architect Discovery & Service Mapping strategy (on-prem, cloud, containers, SaaS)Â
Design Event Management integration with monitoring tools (Datadog)Â
Establish Cloud Management integration (GCP) and FinOps capabilitiesÂ
Define multi-year ITOM roadmap: CMDB → Discovery → Service Mapping → Event Mgmt → Cloud MgmtÂ
Enterprise Integration & Platform ArchitectureÂ
Design integration architecture for 50+ systems: monitoring, cloud, ITSM, identity, ticketingÂ
Define multi-instance strategy (prod, pre-prod, sandbox, dev) and CI/CD for ServiceNowÂ
Architect platform security: SSO/SAML, RBAC, encryption, audit logging, MFAÂ
Ensure scalability (1,000+ users) and performance (SLOs, optimization)Â
Establish development standards, customization governance, upgrade strategyÂ
Team Leadership & Stakeholder ManagementÂ
Support the leadership team with building, coaching and developing a world-class ServiceNow teamÂ
Partner with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, Enterprise Architecture, Engineering and ProductÂ
Present to executives, board, and regulators; translate technical concepts to business languageÂ
Provide vendor/partner oversight; ensure knowledge transfer to internal teamÂ
Compliance & Continuous ImprovementÂ
Ensure compliance (e.g., SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, FINRA, SEC, GLBA)Â
Support regulatory examinations with technical documentation and platform demonstrationsÂ
Drive CMDB accuracy to 95%+; optimize performance; manage technical debtÂ
Evaluate emerging capabilities (AI/ML, AIOps, Predictive Intelligence)Â
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent work experience) required
10+ years IT operations/infrastructure; 5+ years hands-on ServiceNow experienceÂ
5+ years leading technical teams; proven mentorship and team developmentÂ
5+ years in financial services technology (banking, broker-dealer, fintech, payments)Â experience preferred
Required Certifications: Service Now Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Implementation Specialist - IT Service Management; one additional CIS domain preferred (Discovery/Service Mapping);
Certified Technical Architect (CTA) highly preferred (or commitment to achieve within 18 months)Â
Led 2+ ServiceNow migrations from legacy systems (greenfield/brownfield, 1,000+ users)Â
Deep ITOM expertise: CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, Cloud ManagementÂ
Expert in ServiceNow architecture, scripting (JavaScript), Integration Hub, MID ServersÂ
