  1. The Accountant is responsible for month-end close and/or assisting the Senior Accountant with month-end close and monthly financial reporting
    1. a. Record financial transactions
    2. b. Prepare and record journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information
    3. c. Review, track, analyze and reconcile all information for accuracy and compliance
    4. d. Analyze budget variances
    5. e. Prepare monthly reports
  2. Prepare monthly account reconciliations in support of the financial statements
  3. Establish financial protocols and tracking systems (e.g., fixed assets, inventories, capitalized labor)
  4. Prepare reports for submission to regulatory agencies
  5. Prepare audit worksheets and reports
  6. Prepare ad-hoc reports/analysis as needed by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
  7. Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
  8. Maintain accounting controls by following and/or recommending policies and procedures
  9. Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
  10. Maintain financial security by following and/or recommending internal controls
  11. Maintain the integrity of confidential data
  12. Keep informed on the latest developments in accounting and the healthcare field through study, reading, attendance at appropriate seminars
  13. Act as an advisor to Managers/Directors on financial formulation. Respond to department managers' inquiries regarding departmental reports. Participate in meetings as needed
  14. Exemplify a high standard of customer service
  15. Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.
  16. Challenges current working practices; identifies process improvement opportunities and presents recommendations and solutions to management. Engages and commits to the organization’s culture of continuous improvement by actively participating, supporting, and promoting CCHC Pillars of Excellence.
  17. Perform other work- related duties as required or assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
  • 3-5 years experience in a financial setting or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or closely related field, and 1-2 years experience in a financial setting.
  • Healthcare experience in a financial setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial theories, principles and concepts
