G‑3 Chickadee—formerly part of Goodyear Chemical—is undergoing a major transformation. As a newly independent, Private Equity–backed organization, we are modernizing our infrastructure, implementing new systems (SAP, MES, cybersecurity), and building a strong operational foundation for continued growth. Local candidates preferred due to proximity to the worksite and interview/ onboarding logistics. Relocation is not available.

We are seeking an Instrument/Electrical Technician at G-3 Chickadee. You will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing electrical instrumentation, and control systems that support manufacturing operations. This role is essential in ensuring equipment reliability, safety, production efficiency, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.

What You'll Do

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and process control equipment.
  • Calibrate and maintain transmitters, flow meters, pressure devices, temperature instruments, analyzers, and control valves.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical equipment including motors, motor control centers (MCCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), relays, sensors, and control circuits.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, loop diagrams, P&IDs, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and assist with system modifications and improvements.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain electrical distribution systems and associated equipment.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on instrumentation and electrical equipment.
  • Maintain documentation, calibration records, and work orders within computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
  • Utilize electrical testing equipment including multimeters, megohmmeters, process calibrators, and loop testers.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Follow and promote safe work practices, including: 
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
    • Arc Flash Safety (NFPA 70E)
    • Electrical Safe Work Practices
    • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
    • Confined Space Entry
    • Fall Protection
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What You'll Bring

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment requirements.

One of the following is required:

  • Three (3) or more years of experience as an Instrument Technician, Electrical Technician, Industrial Electrician, or Controls Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment; or
  • Two (2) years of related industrial maintenance experience plus an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Electrical Technology, Instrumentation Technology, Industrial Systems, or a related field; or
  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or technical training program combined with industrial maintenance experience totaling at least four (4) years.


Preferred

  • Five (5) or more years of industrial electrical and instrumentation experience.
  • Associate degree in Instrumentation Technology, Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance Technology, or related field.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience working with VFDs, MCCs, control valves, and process instrumentation.
  • Familiarity with distributed control systems (DCS) and SCADA platforms.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using CMMS software.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E requirements, and electrical safety standards.
  • Completion of an electrical or instrumentation apprenticeship program.
  • Desire and willingness to learn and perform across multiple maintenance disciplines.
