Production Superintendent

 

Arkema’s Beaumont Plant is seeking an experienced Production Superintendent to provide leadership for the Sulfox, DMDS, Utilities, and Shipping operations while driving safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing performance. This role serves as the manufacturing asset owner for key production units and is responsible for optimizing operations, developing personnel, improving asset utilization, and supporting business objectives through operational excellence and continuous improvement.

As a key member of the Operations leadership team, you will collaborate closely with Maintenance, HES, Process Engineering, Reliability, Supply Chain, and plant personnel to ensure production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and operational performance. This position requires strong leadership capabilities, manufacturing expertise, and a passion for developing high-performing teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Sulfox, DMDS, Utilities, and Shipping operations to achieve production, safety, inventory, cost, and operational performance objectives.
  • Drive operational excellence by improving asset utilization, reliability, productivity, and continuous improvement performance across assigned manufacturing areas.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Reliability, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to execute maintenance strategies, turnarounds, and key operational initiatives.
  • Develop, coach, and lead Shift Leads and Operations personnel while supporting workforce planning, employee development, training, and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while promoting a strong culture of HES excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.
  • 5–10 years of process engineering experience and 2+ years of leadership experience preferred; OR 10+ years of manufacturing/operations experience and 2+ years of leadership experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience in chemical manufacturing, process operations, or production leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of process troubleshooting, optimization, and operational improvement methodologies.
  • Proven leadership, employee development, and team-building skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to respond to off-hours operational and emergency situations as needed.
