Job Description

Position Purpose:

Performs a variety of chemical, biological, and physical tests required for research, development or quality control. Responsible for performing routine tasks and analyses on samples in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. May perform specialized analysis under the direction of the Plant Manager, Laboratory Manager or Laboratory Supervisor to support applied quality assurance and control procedures. Maintains the laboratory as directed for compliance with company hygiene plans. Assists in special studies in the laboratory and possibly in the field.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Review and report Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) data.
  • Improve testing procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, precision, and repeatability.
  • Resolve quality issues related to instrument reliability, maintenance, turnaround time, testing capability, and overall performance.
  • Participate in the analysis, segregation, and treatment of waste across incineration, physical treatment, and stabilization plants, as well as inventory management systems.
  • Conduct waste sample collection, characterization, and analytical testing.
  • Manage and reduce long-term waste inventories on-site.
  • Support internal and external audits while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and corporate quality standards.
  • Monitor daily operations to maintain QA/QC compliance under the direction of the Senior Technical Director.
  • Train chemists and technicians on hazard communication, proper PPE use, emergency response procedures, and safe analytical techniques.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelors degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Chemistry or Biology.
  • 2 years of experience in a related occupation required.
  • 1 year experience to operate and trouble shoot and repair the instruments including Ion Chromatography, TOC Analyzer, 6400 Calorimeter, ICP (Agilent), Gas Chromatography.
  • 1 year experience communicating technical information to operations.
  • 1 year experience with environmentally regulated constituents related to the stack emissions.
  • 1 year experience in the hazardous waste industry.
  • 1 year experience working with analytical instrumentation.

 

Additional Information

Pay Range: $94286 Per Year.
