About the role

  • The Asset Technician is responsible for physically managing, maintaining, and organizing company assets within the yards or storage facilities. This role ensures that all tools, equipment, and materials are properly stored, tracked, and maintained for operational efficiency. The technician will also perform routine inspections, coordinate repairs, and assist with asset inventory management. Most work will be done at the Patillo location but may require travel to other yards as well.

What you'll do

  • Asset Management: Track, organize, and maintain company assets, including tools, equipment, and materials stored in the yards.
  • Inventory Control: Conduct regular inventory checks, update asset records, and ensure proper documentation of all items.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs on owned equipment to ensure functionality.
  • Logistics & Coordination: Assist in loading, unloading, and staging equipment and materials for projects or deliveries.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow company safety policies and procedures, ensuring proper handling and storage of equipment.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of asset movement, maintenance and repairs, and usage logs.
  • Communication: Coordinate with operations, logistics, and maintenance teams to ensure assets are available and in good condition when needed.
  • Yard Organization: Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of hazards to promote a safe working environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Previous experience in asset management, warehouse, or yard operations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in the industry.
  • Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other yard equipment (certification may be required).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed specifically during a disaster response event. 
  • Able to travel as needed to other facilities and or locations.
  • Must be 23 years of age or older for company vehicle insurance requirements.
  • Must have a clean driving record. 
  • Must have or be able to obtain a DOT Med Card.
