The Manager, Software Product Delivery leads and develops Software Product Managers (SPMs), Product Owners (POs), or hybrid product delivery teams within the Software Product Delivery Enablement organization.

This role is accountable for building high-performing teams that consistently deliver business value through disciplined product delivery practices, strong stakeholder alignment, effective execution governance, and continuous improvement. The Manager establishes clear role expectations, develops team capabilities, and drives accountability for both delivery outcomes and business results.

The role partners closely with Product, Engineering, UX/UI, Architecture, and Operations leaders to ensure teams are aligned to strategic priorities, maintain healthy backlogs, deliver predictable outcomes, and continuously improve ways of working.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

People Leadership and Capability Development – 40%

Accountabilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Software Product Managers, Product Owners, or hybrid product delivery teams.
  • Establish clear role expectations, competency models, and career growth pathways.
  • Build capabilities in product thinking, business value alignment, backlog management, stakeholder engagement, release readiness, and delivery execution.
  • Foster accountability for delivery commitments, business outcomes, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance management, coaching, hiring, onboarding, and succession planning activities.
  • Develop future leaders through mentoring, stretch assignments, and leadership development opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of ownership, collaboration, customer focus, and operational excellence.
  • Enable teams to effectively leverage AI, automation, and modern delivery practices to improve productivity and outcomes.

Delivery Excellence, Governance, and Operating Model Leadership – 20%

Accountabilities

  • Define and continuously improve delivery standards, governance practices, and team operating expectations.
  • Establish and maintain Definition of Ready, backlog quality, prioritization, and release readiness standards.
  • Ensure work aligns product strategy, value stream objectives, PI commitments, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Drive adoption of standardized software delivery practices across teams.
  • Monitor delivery health through metrics including predictability, throughput, cycle time, lead time, quality, and backlog readiness.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives that improve delivery effectiveness, team efficiency, and organizational agility.
  • Support implementation and evolution of the organization's product-led operating model.

Delivery Oversight and Team Enablement – 20%

Accountabilities

  • Support teams in managing execution risks, dependencies, blockers, and operational constraints.
  • Facilitate effective planning, prioritization, sprint execution, release readiness, and value delivery.
  • Apply Agile and SAFe practices to enable successful PI Planning, backlog refinement, dependency management, and release coordination.
  • Identify systemic bottlenecks impacting delivery performance and drive resolution.
  • Partner with Engineering, Architecture, UX/UI, and Product leadership to address capacity, technical health, quality, and delivery risks.
  • Ensure teams balance strategic initiatives, operational commitments, technical debt, and platform sustainability.

Strategic Stakeholder Alignment and Business Outcomes – 10%

Accountabilities

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, UX/UI, Architecture, and Operations leaders to align priorities and delivery plans.
  • Facilitate decision-making forums and governance processes that improve transparency and execution effectiveness.
  • Ensure teams understand business objectives, customer outcomes, operational impacts, and value realization expectations.
  • Communicate delivery health, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs to leadership.
  • Drive alignment between strategic goals, roadmap priorities, and delivery execution.
  • Support business case development, prioritization decisions, and outcome measurement.

Operational Leadership and Continuous Improvement – 10%

Accountabilities

  • Provide oversight of reporting, tooling, governance processes, and organizational planning activities.
  • Monitor delivery performance, operational risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness, delivery processes, and organizational capabilities.
  • Support organizational planning, capacity forecasting, and workforce development efforts.
  • Champion continuous improvement through data-driven decision making and measurement.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications & KSA):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of Software Product Management, Product Ownership, Technology Delivery, or Agile leadership.
  • 3-4 years of leadership experience.
  • Scrum Master Certification or Product Manager/Product Owner SAFe® certification preferred.
